Question 1

Are my files uploaded to a server?

Accepted Answer

No. ConvertHub converts everything directly in your browser using WebAssembly and the Canvas API. Your files never leave your device, which means your conversions are completely private and work even offline once the page has loaded.

Question 2

Is it really free?

Accepted Answer

Yes — all image, PDF, audio and video tools are free with no sign-up, no watermarks and no hidden limits beyond what your device can handle.

Question 3

What's the maximum file size?

Accepted Answer

There's no fixed limit, but because conversion happens on your device, very large videos (multiple GB) depend on your available memory. For big video jobs, close other tabs and use a desktop browser.

Question 4

Why did the audio/video engine take a moment to load the first time?

Accepted Answer

Audio and video conversion is powered by FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly (~31 MB). It downloads once when you first open an audio or video tool, then stays cached for instant use.

Question 5

Which image formats are supported?

Accepted Answer

Input: JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, BMP, TIFF, SVG, ICO, AVIF and HEIC. Output: JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, BMP, TIFF, SVG and ICO, plus AVIF in browsers that can encode it. HEIC and AVIF decoding depends on your browser's built-in support.

Question 6

How does PDF to Word work?

Accepted Answer

We extract the text layer from your PDF and rebuild it into a .docx file. Scanned PDFs without a text layer need OCR (coming soon). Complex layouts are simplified to editable text.

Question 7

Can I convert several files at once?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Drop as many files as you like, convert them in a batch, and download everything together as a single ZIP archive.

Question 8

Can I cancel a conversion?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A Cancel button appears while a batch is running and stops processing after the current file finishes.

Question 9

How long is my history kept?

Accepted Answer

Conversion history is stored only in your browser and automatically clears after 24 hours. The actual converted files stay available for re-download only while the tab is open.

Question 10

Do you support HEIC from iPhone photos?

Accepted Answer

Yes, if your browser can decode HEIC (Safari does natively). On other browsers, converting the HEIC to JPG on your phone first is the most reliable path.

Question 11

What are the social media presets?

Accepted Answer

One-click output settings sized for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn and common device resolutions from 480p to 4K.

Question 12

Is ConvertHub safe for confidential documents?

Accepted Answer

Because nothing is uploaded, it's ideal for sensitive files — contracts, IDs, medical records. The processing happens entirely within your own browser session.
